CNAME Record

CNAME records, or Canonical Name records, map an alias name to a canonical domain name.

For example, CNAME records define aliases for A records by pointing one domain to another domain instead of to an IP address. Because a CNAME record maps to a hostname instead of an IP address, any A record changes for the hostname do not affect the functionality of the CNAME record. It always connects to the IP address that is currently associated with the hostname.
